Preventative Dentistry Services

Preventative dentistry is the most important step you can take at home to ensure your teeth and gums remain healthy. Along with brushing twice daily, we also stress the importance of flossing, which helps clean those hard-to-reach places between your teeth. We teach our patients proper techniques for both, and recommend any other at-home treatments which suit each patient’s particular needs.

Proper at-home care is only half of the equation. Even the most thorough among us should still schedule a teeth cleaning and exam on a regular basis. A dentist can remove the plaque and tartar which normal brushing leave behind, and, if necessary, apply sealants to at-risk teeth and take other measures to prevent and treat a host of other tooth and gum issues. Regular checkups are also one of the best ways to catch the early stages of certain health issues, like oral cancer, and treat these in early stages.

With proper care and maintenance of your teeth—both at home and in our office—you can live a life free of cavities, enamel wear, gum disease, gingivitis, and more.

Teeth Cleaning

Our dental hygienists will clean and polish your teeth, painlessly and without discomfort. Your mouth will feel refreshed and renewed, and we’ll show you how to keep it that way!

Sealants

Sealants are painlessly-applied coverings for your rear molars that cover up the many deep pits along their surfaces. This prevents food from becoming lodged in the crevices and is one of the best preventative measures against tooth decay.

Root Scaling

Even the most thorough brushing might miss some of the plaque on your teeth, which can lead to the buildup of hard, mineralized formations called tartar. Your teeth may need a deep cleaning to remove this buildup and prevent gum disease and tooth decay.
